X Men Wolverine Game Film Information

The origin of the Wolverine game is explained most easily by reference to an outline of the film itself.

X-Men Origins : Wolverine is a 2009 superhero film based often on the Marvel Comics' fictional personality Wolverine. It is a prequel to the X-Men film trilogy and is essentially set roughly about 10 years or so before the film X-Men. The X Men Wolverine game directly takes its inspiration from the film.

The film concentrates on the violent past of the mutant Wolverine and his relationship with his half-brother Victor Creed. It opened at the ticket office, grossing $85 million domestically on the opening weekend, and made over $300 million around the globe in its first month of release. The X Men Wolverine game is seeing strong sales in the video games market.

In 1845 Canada, young James Howlett sees his pop wiped out by groundskeeper Thomas Logan. The trauma turns on the boy's mutation - claws stick out from James' hands, and he kills Logan. The imagery of the claws forms a key element of the gameplay within the Wolverine game as they are Logan's primary weapons.

In his dying breathe, Logan tells James that he is his real father. The two survive for over a century as men in their prime, putting their violent urges and skills to use by fighting in the Yankee Civil War and both World Wars. The couple joins the team, but the group's questionable actions and disregard for human life cause James to leave. Six years on, James - going by the name Logan – is living in Canada with his partner Kayla Silverfox.

Colonel Stryker unearths Logan and warns him someone is massacring members of the team. Stryker offers Logan a strategy to beat Victor. Logan undergoes an operation to fortify his skeleton with adamantium, a virtually indestructible metal. Before the method, Logan asks for new dog tags inscribed with "Wolverine".

Stryker orders Logan's memory to be wiped out, but Logan overhears him and leaves, with prior team member tracking him. Wolverine takes refuge in the barn of an aged couple who take him in for the night. They explain that Stryker is performing experiments on mutants. One of them, Gambit, escaped and knows the location of the Island.

Victor kills Wraith and takes a sample of his blood. Wolverine attacks and, with his strengthened powers, nearly kills him. Gambit interrupts the fight, allowing Victor to escape. After being convinced of Wolverine's truth, Gambit takes him to Stryker's facility on 3 Mile Island. Victor, exasperated, tries to kill Kayla, but Logan hears her screams and stops him. Logan nearly kills Victor but spares him, and agrees to help Kayla free the detained mutants.

Stryker turns on his Weapon XI, a "mutant killer" super-soldier with the capacities of other mutants. The mutants escape through the facility's tunnels, led by a young blinded Scott Summers who is following a voice in his head. The party is greeted by Professor Charles Xavier, who offers them shelter at his university. Kayla, mortally injured in the escape, comes to a call to stay. Wolverine lures Weapon XI to fight on top of one of the plant's cooling towers, where Victor arrives and aids his brother. Victor escapes and Wolverine is saved from the falling tower by Gambit. Silverfox uses her powers of convincing to order Stryker to walk away before expiring from her own injuries.

Gambit returns, but the brain damage causes Wolverine not to remember anything. Gambit and Wolverine run away as the emergency groups come roaring up to the devastated cooling tower.

The Wolverine game is based on the X Men series of films. The X Men Wolverine game has had its gameplay extended to go beyond the film script to make a more dynamic adventure for the serious video gamer.
